Never leave the baby powder out...

So, I was alone with the kids and was getting ready for my dr. appointment. I had changed both kids and had put the powder away... or so I thought. The kids were fine and safe, so I hurried to take a shower. When I got out of the shower, I heard giggling. I came out and found this...
My baby girl covered in powder. My baby girl and my mom's living room. He even managed to powder glass! How do you powder glass?!?! I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. I didn't have time to cry, so I did what any mom would do. I took a picture first and then yelled at Jeffrey. His defense was.... "But Mommy, it's Snow Lexi!" . I then proceeded to call the doctor to make sure there would be no poisoning effects. (Thank you Aunt Sonia for not laughing too hard at me.)
At that point Bear rang the doorbell, and I had to meet him outside the door and explain the situation. I didn't want him to go in and laugh and encourage Jeffrey even more. I was able to clean up and shake the powder out of the pillows of the couch. I did all this in 10 minutes and was only 5 minutes to the appointment.
Needless to say, the baby powder is now under lock and key!

A day at the beach

I’ve always enjoyed the beach. I try to pass the love onto my kids despite our high desert residence. Jeffrey has loved it since day one. Since we had Spring Break I wanted to take them. There was only one of me and two of them…. Anyone who has kids can tell you that you never travel light, so I decided it would be a one hour visit and not day. They kids enjoyed it and surprisingly Alexis did not try to eat the sand. She loved the sand and enjoyed the breeze.

The day was great until Jeffrey called me out for not taking him to eat at Ruby’s. His Tia Kristi takes him there, why didn’t I take him? Keep in mind this kid is 2…. What 2 year old knows a restaurant?!?!

Alexis in the sand…

Jeffrey enjoying the beach…

Footprints in the sand…

I can’t wait to go back in the summer!

"32"

So anyone who knows me well knows that my favorite number in the whole world is 32. I’ve worn it on my jerseys for years, and even have it on my license plate. So this year, I turned 32. Surprising, yes – I mean I had been 25 for the past 7 years. It was so bad that my sister even forgot my real age. For the record, I will be 32 from here on out.

Knowing that this birthday was so special to me, Aaron surprised me with a birthday lunch at Bucca De Beppo’s. The surprise was hard to keep as I kept discovering secret text messages. They pulled it off and it was very nice and there was great food!

On my REAL birthday, the kids and I went to Disneyland. We had fun, and enjoyed a few rides, thanks Aly! We even got some shopping in.

We came back and had another great feast, thanks to Nino and gang.

Thank you to Aaron and all of my family for making this day so special!

Kite Flying

It was pretty windy when we were in HB, so we decided to fly kites.

For a normal family, this would be a few people. For us.. it was 17 of us… just hanging out and that’s because a few did not go out because of the weather. Just a normal Trujillo outing.
***Some kites did run into trouble. Nick's kite went into a neighbor's backyard!***

The day was capped off by a neighbor who came out with a FISHING POLE and a kite! Who flies a kite with a fishing pole?! I may not be an outdoorsy girl, but even that doesn’t sound right. To make it all the better… he came out wearing pants with reflectors!!! And they tell me, I live near the ghetto.

Cousin Liam's 1st Birthday 3/15/09

So I am very behind. Liam celebrated his first birthday and it was lots of fun. It was a very cute jungle theme and we helped him celebrate it.

Making each other laugh…

Jeffrey hitting the piñata. (Most parents would just cheer him on, Aaron and I critiqued his swing!)

Alexis hitting the piñata with Aaron’s help. (You can never start them too early)

Getting candy

We had a lot of fun, and can’t wait for the next one!

8 Months

My little Lexi,

Well, here we are at 8 months. I cannot believe how time flies. I still remember this time last year. It was around this time we found out you'd be a girl.

This month you went for your check up. You weighed in at 24lbs. 14 oz and are 28 3/4in. You are bigger than your brother was at this age. Dr. Chang says you are very healthy, and says you should be moving in these next months.
You are rolling around quite a bit, and just today I saw you wanting to get into that crawling position. You have also cut your first two teeth, and love babbling.
We have noticed your fondness for cartoon music and your brother. You think he is the funniest thing around. He is the one who will get you to laugh, and now tells us what you want or are saying. You have taken an interest in him as well. We notice you hamming it up with him as well.
You are in what I refer to the happy bouncing stage. Can't really move, but you think by bouncing you can.
You went to the beach again, this time in the sand. It didn't really seem to bother you, it's as if it was completely natural to you. (Funny cause we live in the desert) You didn't cry and surprisingly didn't try to eat the sand.
We will begin swimming lessons later this month, and we are excited! It will be interesting to see how you react to the water and splashes.
We look forward to your laughs, smiles and kisses!
Love,
Mommy

There is nothing to say about this...

So there has been many a jokes about me in regards to playing softball (It’s as if they expect me to come clean about something that is not there) My sister points it out just about every chance she gets. My argument will be that at least I was not a cheerleader, and had other girls’ hands on me, but she will always make fun of me.

My husband on the other hand… has just come flying out of the closet. I am trying to come to terms with it, but I am just in shock. How did this revelation come about?

Well picture it… Lancaster 2009… I was a young peasant girl…I was going to put on Handy Manny for Jeffrey when I made the discovery. There it was… in plain sight. I looked on our list of recorded programs and it read.

The View HD. The View?!

What self respecting man watches the The View?!?! I closed the list, and reopened it, wondering if I had somehow made a mistake, but no. I could not believe it. Sure there had been addictions to Bridezillas, possibly Desperate Housewives, but The View confirmed it. My husband… yeah.
So I asked him why he recorded The View? Hoping it had been a mistake… He said it he recorded it because Jimmy Kimmel was on it. I felt a little better, that is, until Jimmy Kimmel came out dressed like a woman.

I think that is all that needs to be said.

HB in March

Aaron’s season is in full swing, and that means that we (Alexis, Fozzy, Jeffrey & I) are in HB quite a bit. We left on Friday afternoon, and I thought that I was in over my head.

We get o my parents’ house and everyone just lost it. (I should mention that Fozzy is infamous for just taking off in full sprint, just ask Bear.) As I was feeding Alexis, Jeffrey decided he had to use to potty. As he’s on the pot, the dogs (Fozzy & Stitch) bust out the screen barking at the school kids. (I should mention it’s the most running Stitch has done in a week, and it was just to the end of the yard.) I had to run after the dogs while Lexi is in her chair and Jeffrey’s on the pot, .Kristina and Bear drove up laughing at me.

We recovered and went to a Fish Fry with Uncle Bobby & Tia Maria and family friends Jesse & Linda. Jeff was not to fond of the fish, but Lexi loved the attention.., shocking, yes.

After we went to Disneyland and had fun. We had lots of fun in our time there; we closed the place. It was nice; I hadn’t really talked to Kris in a while, so it was fun.
On the tram

Where are we?!?!

Kris*Jeffrey*Alexis*Me

Saturday was a very special occasion. It was Tita & Tito’s 66th Anniversary.

Yes, the 66th.

Tita & Tito

So were do you go to commemorate a special occasion such as this? Why, to Hometown Buffett, of course! It was the only real place that would fit all of us. Here are a few pics.

What family gathering would be complete without trying to teach the kids a science lesson? Aka burning leaves.
After half of the group went to watch our OV Seahawks win the CIF IVAA Championship. We saw many old friends, and former players. It was a great experience.

All in all, it was a fun weekend. Jeffrey played with the train. Lexi played with her toys.Even Fozzy shared toys with Stitch And tothink… we’ll be back next weekend

Handy Jeffrey

I think it’s apparent that Jeffrey has seen one too many Handy Manny episodes. For those who are not familiar, Manny is a person who helps others and believes in teamwork. I think Jeffrey has taken that message to heart.

Jeffrey and Alexis are getting closer; it’s very apparent. I wasn’t sure just how close until today. Jeffrey has to sit next to her at dinner. After dinner he announced that he would change Lexi’s diaper. We thought, “Yeah, right.” After he finished his applesauce, he jumped out of his chair and brought back a diaper. Aaron and I had to get the cameras. He needed some help at first…

He got the diaper off, and got scared off by poop coming out. (There was none) After that he was a little gun shy, but attempted to finish and gave up. Aaron had to finish the diaper, but we agreed he did pretty well, considering ALL he had to diaper.

Lexi was a good sport, only attempting to roll once. He said he’d try again tomorrow. We’ll see about that.

A time for change

The time has come… and I was trying to put it off for many reasons. The kids are moving on to bigger car seats.*Sigh* To the average person this would be no big deal, but coming from a mom who’s kids are growing too quickly and does not plan on having anymore, it’s a sad day. Jeffrey was very happy and sat in the different car seats at Babies R Us. We decided on one, and bought two.

Jeffrey had fun with Daddy building his new car seat/booster.. Once we put it in the car, Aaron had me inspect it. I told Jeffrey he was growing up too fast. He nodded, and then put his arms out for a hug.

Lexi looked on as she awaits her big move. We went miniature golfing today, and we had fun. My only regret is that I forgot my camera, but we got plenty of footage for our family video. I am not sure if Jeffrey is the next Tiger Woods, but he has good control of his club, or putter.

To commemorate the day, I bought Jeffrey a shirt… which will remain a secret from Daddy till he reads the blog.
